Professor Margaret Bearman
Professor Margaret Bearman
Deakin University

Margaret Bearman is a Research Professor within the Centre for Research in Assessment and Digital Learning (CRADLE), Deakin University, with qualifications in both computer science and education. Margaret has researched higher and professional education for over two decades. She is known for her work into assessment practices, feedback in healthcare, and university education in digital world. She co-led the construction of national principles guiding Australian university assessment reform for a time of artificial intelligence. Margaret has a deep interest in how theory embeds into practice.

Professor Sally Everett is Professor of Business Education and was Vice Dean (Education) at King’s Business School, King’s College London (2019 – 2025). Sally was the Academic Lead for Inclusive Education for King’s College London (2019-2023) and established the business school’s gender network (Women@KBS). Sally is a National Teaching Fellow (2017), Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (2013), Collaborative Award for Teaching Excellence award holder (team lead, 2016) and is the Equality Officer for the Association of National Teaching Fellows. Sally was awarded the prestigious Fellowship of the Chartered Association of Business School’s (CABS) in 2025 and is a member of their Race Equality Working Group , Equality and Diversity Committee, and facilitates and leads their ‘Leaders in Learning and Teaching Programme’. Sally has held numerous leadership roles at several universities including interim/acting dean, deputy dean, and Head of Department (Marketing, Tourism and Events). Sally has also widely published on inclusive education, diversity, events and tourism – having just published “Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in Business Management” (edited, 2025) and a monograph ‘Decolonising Tourism Education’ (due, 2026).

Professor Peter Bryant
Peter is an experienced academic with over twenty-five years teaching and research experience in both the UK and Australia, in the areas of higher education strategy, learning technologies and creative industries management.
Peter is a Trustee of the Association for Learning Technology, which supports the professional and policy development of staff using educational technology. He is an experienced researcher, speaker and advocate specialising in pedagogical change, social media in education, the practices of making, and engagement in education and the creative industries. He co-leads the international Future Happens initiative, which uses innovative approaches to problem-solving and change management to engage the wider higher education sector in debates and research-informed conversations around technology, pedagogy and the future of the modern University. He is the Chair of the editorial Board for the peer reviewed open access journal Reserach in Learning Technology.
Alison Casey
Alison Casey
Dr Alison Casey is a Senior Lecturer in Educational Development with the Business Co-Design team at the University of Sydney and has enormous enthusiasm for and extensive experience in teaching in all its forms. She currently leads co-design projects with Business School academics to provide students with better learning experiences. Originally a scientist, she has developed and taught curriculum in both quantitative and qualitative subjects. Her expertise is in active learning pedagogies, students as partners practice, digital affordances, and authentic assessment.

Professor Angela Knox
Angela Knox is a Professor of Work and Organisation and Academic Director of Professional Development. She is an internationally recognized expert in job quality, precarious work, skills and migration. Angie has published widely and her work has appeared in Gender, Work and Organisation, Human Relations, Human Resource Management Journal, Industrial Relations, International Journal of Human Resource Management and Work, Employment and Society. She has also co-edited a book, Job Quality in Australia. She is an Editor of Work, Employment and Society and Editorial Board member of Human Relations. Angie has received in excess of ten teaching awards, including the inaugural Dean's Award for Teaching and she is a Senior Fellow with the Higher Education Academy/ AdvanceHE. She is also an Honorary Associate Professor at the University of Warwick, UK.
Leisa Sargent
Professor Leisa Sargent
Leisa Sargent is Dean of the Business School at the University of Sydney since December 2022. Leisa studied at the University of Toronto and obtained her PhD from the Rotman School of Management. Prior to her appointment at the University of Sydney, Leisa held the position of Senior Deputy Dean at The University of New South Wales (UNSW) Business School (2016-2022). She also held positions as Co-DVC Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (2019-2022), Professor Head of School Management and Marketing, The University of Melbourne (2012-2016) and held several academic program director and University committee roles at the University of Melbourne (2003-2011), Cornell University (2002), and Queensland University of Technology (1991-2001). She has conducted numerous Faculty and academic program reviews and has served on several advisory and governance boards of Australian University bodies, as chair or as a member, including the Centre for Social Impact and UNSW Global. Her research impact roles include expert witness, Senate inquiries, and Government advising. Leisa's research has been published in the leading international journals, including Personnel Psychology, Organization Science, Harvard Business Review, Academy of Management Learning and Education, Journal of Management Education,Journal of Human Resources Management, Journal of Organisational Behavior,Journal of Vocational Behaviour, Journal of Occupational and Organizational Psychology, Work and Stress, Small Group Research and British Journal of Industrial Relations. She has held editorial board memberships including the Journal of Management Studies and Human Relations. Leisa has consulted to large complex organisations both in Australia and North America, including companies such as Nortel, the Australian Maritime Safety Authority, Telstra, Incitec, Canada Life, Comcare, Arnott's, and the Royal Children's Hospital, Melbourne. She is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. A nationally awarded educator, Leisa was named the Pearson Australia and New Zealand Academy of Management innovative educator of the year. Leisa's current research spans an evidence-based approach to leadership development, new perspectives on retirement, workday design, restorative experiences, and green infrastructure. Her research has been competitively funded through the Australian Research Council grants, Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada, The Australian Learning and Teaching Council, The Academy of Management and Hort Innovation Australia.
Danika Wright
Associate Professor Danika Wright
Associate Professor Danika Wright is an accomplished educator and researcher in corporate finance. She is a nationally recognised higher education leader, sought out for her insights on innovative curriculum design, inclusive education, and strong graduate outcomes. Her research examines incentives, regulation, and investment with applications across executive pay, housing affordability, and financial innovation. Her work has been published in leading international journals, including the Review of Corporate Finance Studies and Regional Studies, and has informed policy debates on regulation, housing markets, and responsible corporate governance.
Her leadership has shaped the redesign of the Business School’s flagship Bachelor of Commerce and postgraduate programs, embedding program-level learning experiences, employability, and social impact across the curriculum. She co-developed the Indigenous Supplier Development Program with partners from the NSW Indigenous Chamber of Commerce and led the development of the Business School’s Indigenous Cultural and Intellectual Property Protocol for Curriculum.
Associate Professor Wright is currently Associate Dean (Education) at the University of Sydney Business School. She has previously served as Associate Dean (Indigenous Strategy & Services) (2021–2024) and Associate Dean (Programs) (2025). She is a CFA charterholder, and prior to joining academia, Associate Professor Wright worked in funds management research and consultancy.

Dr Zoe Alderton is a Research Professional at the University of Sydney Business School, where she works on curriculum innovation aligned with strategic priorities. Her work spans leadership education, ethical technology integration, and inclusive learning design, with a strong focus on supporting students from non-traditional pathways. Zoe has designed and delivered high-impact programs such as Leading in a Post-Crisis World, integrating insights from industry professionals and crisis-experienced leaders to foster resilience and ethical decision-making in students. She is a core member of DIBERG (Disruptive Innovations in Business Education Research Group) and has presented internationally on using simple technologies to enhance student reflection. Zoe’s interdisciplinary expertise includes sociology, religion, writing studies, and economics, and she has taught across all levels from first year to PhD.
Malmi Amadoru
Malmi Amadoru
Malmi Amadoru is a Lecturer at the University of Sydney Business School. She teaches both undergraduate and postgraduate students in the areas of emerging digital technologies and data visualisation. Her research centres on digital innovation, particularly the adoption and diffusion of emerging technologies through a discursive lens. This includes examining the discursive influence of social bots in facilitating the spread of new technologies. She also explores how these emerging technologies contribute to broader processes of digital transformation. Methodologically, she is well-versed in combining computational methods with qualitative methods to draw insights and develop theory. In 2022, she won the second runner-up of the ACM SIGMIS Doctoral Dissertation Award and the ACPHIS PhD Medal, which is awarded annually to the best Australian PhD dissertation in the Information Systems discipline. Her research has been published in leading journals such as the Information Systems Journal and prestigious conferences, including ICIS and AOM.

Ali's research interests span several critical areas within information systems, focusing on their social and organisational impacts. His research interest includes digital work, the strategic impact of emerging technologies, technology governance, openness, digital innovation, and strategy. Currently, his teaching focuses on the practical applications of information systems and disruptive technologies, such as blockchain, cybersecurity, and business processes.

Lorna Andriamora is a Lecturer in Counselling at ACAP University College. She holds a Diploma and a Bachelor of Counselling from ACAP and a Master of Criminology from the University of Sydney. She is currently completing a doctorate at the University of Southern Queensland, focusing on developing an evidence-based Art Therapy model for children of incarcerated Indigenous parents. Lorna has worked as a counsellor at the Emerging Community Resource Centre and founded Eagle House, a not-for-profit supporting children with incarcerated parents in Mauritius. She is passionate about fostering critical thinking and encouraging students to explore and question counselling theories.

Dr Lova Andriamora is an education-focused Associate Lecturer in Work and Organisational Studies at the University of Sydney Business School. He joined the University of Sydney in 2016 and has taught various units across disciplines before coordinating BUSS5221 (Creative and Analytic Mindset) and WORK6130 (Leadership in Organisations). Lova holds a doctorate degree from Central Queensland University, along with postgraduate qualifications in business, human services management, and tertiary education. His interests include academic integrity—particularly contract cheating and AI—as well as the challenges international students face in adapting to research-based learning. He published Loholona Mpiandry, a leadership book in Malagasy.

Abe is an accomplished industry practitioner with over 40 years of experience in consulting, designing and delivering business and technology solutions at ASX100 and Fortune100 institutions around the world. He has over 10 years of experience in lecturing, tutoring and designing courses in business transformation and complex problem solving at the University of Sydney and University of New South Wales. The work that constantly exposed him to the root causes underlying the many challenges facing society is what drives him to advocate the need for real change in how we educate our future citizens and leaders.

Before his academic career, Max worked as an accountant and auditor for PwC and Macquarie Bank. Max’s research focuses on corporate social responsibility, prison reform, and cybersecurity. Max has published extensively in top-tier academic journals and serves on the editorial board of Critical Perspectives on Accounting and Accounting and Business Research, and is an Associate Editor of ABACUS and Special Issue Editor of Accounting, Auditing and Accountability Journal. In 2022, Max won an ARC discovery grant to study the data breach disclosure rules and practices in Australian companies.

Dr Ilva Navarro Bateman is a Senior Lecturer in Business Management at Liverpool Hope University, specialising in International Business, Globalisation, and Cross-Cultural Management. She is Programme Lead for Business Management and serves as the Lead Senior Academic Advisor within the Faculty of Business, Law and Criminology. A Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, she integrates game-based learning as a pedagogical tool and is actively engaged in Learning and Teaching research to enhance the student experience. She also brings extensive industry experience, a prior to academia, she managed Caribbean and U.S. corporate accounts for one of Latin America's largest cement producers.

Dr Paul Blayney is a teaching focused academic in the Discipline of Accounting, Governance & Regulation in the Business School. His research interests are in education and applying various aspects of cognitive load theory (the basis of his PhD thesis). Paul’s teaching interests are in management accounting and data analytics for accounting. He is an accomplished Excel expert/nerd.

Roel is a Senior Lecturer in Accounting, Governance & Regulation. His research explores accounting and accountability in contexts where performance is difficult to measure, focusing primarily on NGO accountability and disruption in the audit profession. He has published his work in leading international journals. Roel has taught internationally in Financial and Sustainability Accounting, Accountability & Ethics, and Qualitative Research Methods. He is actively involved in designing and implementing educational innovations and has received numerous teaching and learning awards for his contributions. Roel previously worked at the University of Amsterdam and is an affiliated researcher with the Mistra Center for Sustainable Markets (Misum).

Having taught both undergraduate and postgraduate students, he is passionately committed to improving students’ experience. He has extensive experience coordinating large units, and his practice is grounded in creating experiential learning opportunities that allow students to apply theory to real-world global business challenges. He is engaged in the design and development of assessments that integrate emerging technologies, including GenAI, enhancing students’ digital literacy while maintaining academic integrity.

Praveena is an Lecturer of Dalyell Program. Praveena has around 10 years of combined experience in the areas of advanced materials and their characterisation technology transfer, technology evaluation, patent landscaping and techno-market mapping in the corporate sector as well as academic research experience. She was instrumental in the creation of IndiaNano (Maharashtra, India), the technology platform focused on bringing together academia and the corporate world in nanotechnology. Praveena received her MS in chemical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts and her PhD from the University of Sydney. Her core research interest is around innovations and addresses questions of how innovations take place, their assessment and their predictability.

Prior to joining academia Janine worked as an auditor in a big four accounting firm and for several leading Australian and Global organisations including those in the Telecommunications, Television, Oil & Gas and Banking industries. Janine is a Fellow of Advance HE (FHEA) and an award-winning educator; she is the recipient of the Wayne Lonergan Outstanding Teaching Award, Dean’s Award for Teaching, Toolbox & Innovator Award and the Academic Enhancement of Student Life Award in recognition of her dedication to supporting and enhancing the student learning experience.

Dr Timothy Davies is an Education-Focused Lecturer in the Discipline of Exercise and Sport Science at the University of Sydney. Tim currently serves as the Health Professions Education Lead, overseeing the management, strategic planning and educational quality of the Discipline's Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) portfolio, supporting student development across clinical and community placement contexts.
Tim completed his PhD in 2020, with a research focus in resistance training science. From 2024, his academic trajectory shifted toward health professions education, where his current teaching practices, research and scholarship focus on the experiences of neurodivergent learners in the context of rejection sensitivity and trauma and assessment of Exercise Science work-integrated performance. He is also investigating the integration of generative AI in professional reflection, whilst also designing innovative placement models tailored to Exercise Science students.
Tim's teaching experience spans across the WIL curriculum, applied sport science, and discipline-specific industry project management. He is passionate about building a collaborative education research culture with the expert clinicians in his team whilst fostering safe and inclusive environments for Exercise Science/Physiology workforce development.

Dr Mark Freeman is a Senior Lecturer (education-focused) in the discipline of Business Information Systems and the Dalyell Program Director at the University of Sydney Business School. Dr. Corinna Galliano is an Associate Lecturer in Strategy, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship at the University of Sydney Business School. Her award-winning teaching and curriculum design focus on experiential and reflective pedagogies that prepare future leaders to navigate paradox, uncertainty, and grand societal challenges. Her current research explores the paradoxes entrepreneurs face when integrating emerging technologies such as AI, as well as temporal tensions in organizational life. Corinna is also a Vedic Meditation teacher, and her broader practice weaves together academic inquiry, leadership education, and contemplative traditions to foster responsible innovation and wellbeing in professional and entrepreneurial contexts.

Associate Professor Quan Gan (Tsinghua BSc, ETHZ/UZH MFin, UNSW PhD) is Head of Finance from 2025. A former IT and finance professional, he publishes in top journals. He is a multi-award-winning educator, faculty advisor to champion CFA and Beta Alpha Psi teams, and led USYD’s MCom Finance to CFA affiliation. He has received numerous teaching awards and grants.

Karen Ganschow (KG) has held senior marketing leadership roles at IBM, Optus, Telstra, Westpac, NAB and Aware Super. All roles had a core focus on harnessing data, contemporary technology and consumer insight to create great customer and business outcomes. KG continues to actively consult to industry on customer engagement and marketing harnessing current Data and Artificial Intelligence.
KG lectures at the MBA level in Marketing and Customer Experience at the Macquarie University Business School and University of Sydney Business School.
In 2007, KG was recognised as the ADMA Marketer of the Year, recognised by LinkedIN as a Power Profile for Australia in 2015 and 2016 and included in the B&T Remarkable Marketer program in 2018.
KG has a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering (Hons), a Masters in Business Administration, Certified Practicing Marketer (AMI) and is a graduate of Australian Institute of Company Directors.

He is particularly interested in leveraging technology to enhance teaching and learning in higher education. He has been actively involved in designing and implementing innovative, technology-driven pedagogical platforms. Asad has engaged in various pedagogical research projects focused on improving learning and teaching in higher education. His work spans diverse areas, including student engagement, pedagogy and playing games in the classroom, innovative methods for collaborative learning, the application of policy frameworks in academic contexts, and the co-creation of knowledge to enhance cross-cultural educational experiences for postgraduate students.

Dr. Daniel Gozman is an Associate Professor at the University of Sydney Business School, where he leads research and teaching in digital transformation, financial technology (FinTech), and AI governance. He holds a PhD from the London School of Economics and Political Science. Daniel’s work bridges academia and industry, with collaborations involving global institutions such as SWIFT. His research has been published in top-tier journals and cited in policy reports across Europe, Africa, and Asia. He has supervised multiple PhD students and received awards for both research excellence and innovative teaching. Beyond the classroom, Daniel contributes to shaping digital policy and international standards through roles held with the British Standards Institute and Standards Australia. He has held editorial positions at Journal of Information Technology, Information Systems Journal, European Journal of Information Systems and MISQ Executive. He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a Freeman of the City of London. Prior to academia Daniel worked as a management consultant.

Hans Hendrischke is a professor of Chinese business and management at the University of Sydney Business School and the executive director of the University of Sydney Centre in China. A member of the China Studies Centre, he is fluent in Chinese and has lived and worked in China. His main research interests are Chinese entrepreneurship and the globalisation of Chinese enterprises. He has co-led KPMG's annual Demystifying Chinese Investment in Australia reports since 2011 and frequently comments on Australia-China business relations in national and international media.

Dr Eva Huang is an expert on Regtech and Comparative Taxation in the Digital Economy. Her research focuses on building the compliance or regulatory business case in the design of compliance risk mitigating digital artefacts, especially regarding risks associated with taxation and financial crimes. Eva is an active and experienced research supervisor, she mentors and collaborates with her research students. Her supervision and mentoring resulted in a PhD internship grant, -- APR Intern Project: Toyota/USyd (Xi Nan) INT-0935 (Academic Mentor). Eva is the founding and current joint editor of the Journal of Chinese Tax and Policy, the first English language journal with an exclusive focus on taxation policies and laws in China. She is also the convener of the International Conference of Chinese Tax and Policy which is the annual conference of the Journal.

Dr Maria Ishkova, SFHEA, is an education-focused academic in Work and Organisational Studies at the University of Sydney Business School, with over 15 years of award-winning experience in leading organisational communication across business and industry bodies. She coordinates undergraduate and postgraduate units and runs masterclasses on organisational communication for students and professional staff, addressing both individual and organisational perspectives to guide learners toward professional success.
Driven by a passion for amplifying Student Voice and the Students as Partners teaching philosophy, Maria’s innovative, industry-oriented, and personalised approach to education has been recognised with USYD’s most prestigious teaching awards, including the Business School Leadership Student Experience Award (2024), Dean’s Award for Teaching (2022), Academic Enhancement of Student Life Award (2022), SRES Inaugural Award for 'Relationship-rich Education' (2021), Vice-Chancellor’s Award for Outstanding Teaching (2020, team), and Wayne Lonergan Award (2019, team).

Having navigated her own transition across academics, culture, and environment from India to Australia, she has actively contributed as a Peer Mentor at the Business School and now serves as Mentoring Director of the Dalyell Scholars Association, supporting high-achieving students from diverse interdisciplinary backgrounds. Driven by her interest in sustainability, she also participated in the Dalyell unit BUDL3902: Disruption for Sustainable Futures in Toronto, where she conducted research on sustainability and transport in collaboration with Toronto City Hall, the University of Toronto, and across the city.

Award-winning Associate Professor Prashan Karunaratne, from Macquarie Business School, is well-regarded for his innovative approach to driving student success through developing an active learning culture. Prashan is the Course Director of the Bachelor of Commerce, and the Unit Convenor of the Bachelor of Commerce Capstone in Macquarie Business School. Prashan is an inspirational and innovative teacher of economics, business analytics, and sustainability at Macquarie University. His enthusiasm for teaching, and passion for improving student outcomes, have inspired and engaged tens of thousands of students for more than two decades. He nurtures students to develop a desire to engage and is a firm believer that the learning journey can benefit both teachers and students. Inspiring students to want to learn – by emphasising the ‘why’ of learning, and empowering students to navigate their own learning journey – by focusing on the ‘how’, creates valuable experiences in his classroom and beyond. He has led innovative teaching initiatives such as the development of the Entrepreneurial Finance (EF) and Open Learning Environment Bootstrap EF units. He has been awarded the Dean’s Citation for Teaching Excellence Award. Henry has published in top-tier finance journals such as Management Science, Review of Finance, the Journal of Corporate Finance, the Journal of Banking and Finance, and the Journal of Financial Intermediation. His most recent accolade includes the Business School Research Excellence Award. Henry is a board director of the Asian Finance Association. Radka champions a human-centred design approach to education, combining her expertise in process improvement with a deep commitment to student-centric learning. She developed the Inclusive Programme Review method, a widely adopted model that embeds student voice into curriculum development and drives continuous enhancement of teaching and learning. A major milestone in her career is her role as chief editor of Transforming Higher Education With Human-Centred Design, an international anthology showcasing how design thinking can reimagine higher education for a more inclusive and responsive future.

With an interdisciplinary background in film, visual arts, and humanities, a PhD in Education (2023) from the University of Adelaide on film-based pedagogy and cognitive load, Ruby brings a unique perspective to the intersection of media, technology, and learning.
Her current work centres on generative AI in higher education. Ruby leads a wide program of academic development workshops and consultations to help educators confidently integrate AI into curriculum design, assessment reform, and teaching practice. Alongside this, she has developed student-facing initiatives that raise AI awareness, foster ethical engagement, and build learner confidence in navigating digital futures.
Ruby’s leadership and publications extend to pedagogical innovation, feedback literacy, and work-integrated learning (WIL), with cross-institutional collaborations across Australia and internationally. Dr Beatriz Rodríguez Garcia is Programme Director for the BSc Marketing and International Business Management degrees at Lancaster University Management School, where she is also a Teaching Fellow in Marketing. She specialises in experiential and simulation-based learning, with particular expertise in the Markstrat simulation. In this setting, students act as managers of their own companies, taking responsibility for decisions across pricing, budgeting, production, distribution, and communications. By competing in a dynamic market environment, they experience the complexity of strategy, teamwork, and long-term planning in ways that extend far beyond the textbook.
Beatriz has also led innovative initiatives to strengthen student engagement and belonging, including Mingle Bingo, which received the Dean’s Award for Student Engagement. As Programme Director, she works closely with international cohorts to provide high-quality learning experiences and academic leadership across both degrees. She also contributes to curriculum development and serves as an Academic Integrity Officer.
Her wider research interests include marketing education, digital and social media marketing, and dark tourism, with a particular focus on storytelling and branding at contested heritage sites. She has presented her work at national and international conferences.
